In Memoriam of Lowell Mazie
Dear Friends of the Mazie Partnership,
It is with profound sadness that we must tell you of Lowell Mazie’s sudden passing on January 18.
As you know, Lowell and his family responded to his son John’s death in 1997 by founding and nurturing an amazing mentoring and educational success organization. The program has seen over 650 at-risk Framingham and Waltham high school students go on to higher education and improve their lives.
Mazie was at his finest when he personally presented awards to the many deserving Mazie mentees that took part in the program over the last 18 years. To Lowell, it was all about the students at Framingham and Waltham High Schools. He was the supreme mentor. He has enhanced the lives of the future children and grandchildren of so many who have benefited from the Mazie program.
Here is the obituary from the Boston Globe.
We will be remembering and celebrating Lowell’s life at a memorial service on Sunday, January 31, 1:30 PM, at Temple Or Atid in Wayland, MA. Lowell’s family has asked that contributions in his memory be made here.
